Dr. M. V. V. S. MURTHI - Chairman

Dr. M. V. V. S. Murthi is the Promoter of VBC Group of Companies.He is a post graduate in Arts, graduate in law and was conferred Ph.D in 'Public Administration' by Andhra University in the year 2002.   He started his career as an advocate and subsequently became an Industrialist. He was Member of 10th & 13th Lok Sabha from Visakhapatnam Constituency in 1991 & 1999 respectively. The GITAM University is the brain child of Dr.Murthi which imparts education in different fields .He has rich experience in Ferro Alloys, Power and Educational Institutions for the last 45 years. He has held several prestigious positions in public and private sector enterprises like Chairman VUDA and various prestigious positions in  Visakhapatnam Port Trust, Life Insurance Corporation of India, All India Radio and Regional Direct Taxes etc.  He is a Chairman of VBC Group of Companies.

Konaseema Gas Power Limited:
Founded in 1967, the Vizag Bottling Company (VBC) is the parent company of the Konaseema Group, VBC, started by Dr. M.V.V.S. Murthi was engaged in bottling & distribution of soft drinks under the franchise of Coca Cola. VBC transited from a Private Limited to a Public Limited Company in 1986. In 1998, as part of global business strategy, the Bottling division was acquired by Coca Cola.

In 1981, the company diversified to Ferro Alloys manufacturing unit at Rudraram, 30 KMS from Hyderabad. In order to reflect the diversified business activities of Vizag Bottling Company Ltd the name was rechristened to VBC Industries Ltd in 1987. In 1990, the company further diversified to chemical business by setting up a plant at Srikakulam a backward district of A.P. to manufacture Ammonium Nitrate Prills, primarily for the mining industry, with technical assistance from Norsk Hydro, Norway and UHDE GmBH, Germany. The journey had begun.

The huge natural gas find of KG Basin in the KONASEEMA region of A.P. i.e., the delta region of river Krishna-Godavari, enthused the group to foray into power generation &. thus emerged "KONASEEMA" as brand for the Group.

The Group endeavours to develop core competencies in Thermal (Gas & Coal) and Hydel Power, Ferro Alloys, Fertilizer, Mining, Coal Beneficiation, Education & Hospitality.

HILTON HYDERABAD PALACE
VARSHA HILLFORT RESORTS PVT. LTD, a group company is developing an existing heritage building in the central business district of Hyderabad into a five star super deluxe hotel of 350 guest rooms in technical collaboration with the internationally famous Hilton International of USA. This six lakh Sq. ft. Project with an estimated cost of Rs 350 Crores (US $ 88 Million) covering six acres of land is located in close proximity to state assembly and secretariat overlooking the famous Hussain Sagar Lake. This Hotel will cater to the "High End" business travelers focusing on Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibition (MICE) segment with extensive convention facilities and a 'Spa' for total rejuvenation.

TRIDENT HYDERABAD

GOLDEN JUBILEE HOTELS LTD., a SPV company is developing a five star super deluxe project on 4.3 acres of prime land at Madhapur, CYBERABAD adjoining Shilpakalavedika in technical and financial collaboration with EIH Ltd. The Hotel will have more than 500 guest rooms and 140 Service Apartments: a total of 780 Guest Modules. Total built up area will exceed 7.5 lakhs Sq. Ft. The project with an estimated cost of Rs. 600 Crores ( US $ 150 Million) is located in the middle of new emerging business hub and will be positioned as a first class business hotel.

The complex will have provision for two international hotel brands and finest serviced apartments with special focus on F & B and high end shopping.
